Engagement Process
Step-by-Step Investor Engagement
Mike leads all VC calls solo. Matias quarterbacks behind the scenes — research, prep, follow-up.
Phase 1: Preparation (Week 1)
Step 1
Finalize Deck
Business model + 3-year pro forma with Rodrigo & Danny. IP slide with Hemant. All slides reviewed by Ed. Current version: v21 DRAFT — see Deck Analysis for slide-by-slide evaluation.
Step 2
Sort Prospect List
Green = highest fit. Yellow = mid-tier. Red = lowest fit. Strategy: start with red/yellow targets to sharpen Mike's delivery, then move to green (best-fit) last. See Investor CRM.
Step 3
Coaching Mike
Eliminate filler words (um, uh). Fix head side-to-side movement — should nod up/down. Practice 5-minute and 15-minute versions. Record and review.
Phase 2: Warm-Up Pitches (Week 1-2)
Step 4
Friendly Fire — Jehu & Diego
Pitch to trusted contacts for honest feedback before going wide. Matias sets up the meetings, Mike pitches solo.
"We're really close now. We're convinced internally that we've got what it takes, but we need outside eyes to tell us — are we as close as we think?"
Step 5
Incorporate Feedback
Adjust deck, talk track, and positioning based on warm-up responses. Iterate fast — one day turnaround max.
Phase 3: Active Outreach — Red & Yellow Tier (Week 2-4)
Step 6
Red/Yellow Tier Outreach
Start with lower-fit investors to give Mike real reps. LinkedIn DMs + cold emails from Mike. Matias preps prospect briefs (48hr homework, know everything about them).
Step 7
VC Call — Mike Solo
Mike presents alone. 15-min pitch + 15-min Q&A. Matias preps him before each call with prospect-specific talking points. If they want a follow-up, invite Hal/Hemant for technical deep dive.
Step 8
Follow-Up Protocol
Within 24hrs: thank-you email + one-pager + any materials requested. If no response after 5 business days: one follow-up. If still silent: move to next. Don't chase.
Phase 4: Green Tier — Best Fit (Week 4-6)
Step 9
Engage Top Targets
By now Mike has 5-10 pitches under his belt. Move to green-tier (highest fit). Use warm intros from red/yellow contacts who responded well. Prioritize: Hustle Fund, Worklife Ventures, Schema Ventures, Uncorrelated Ventures, Boldstart Ventures, OneSixOne, Florida Funders.
Step 10
LOI Collection
Target 3-5 letters of intent. Not firm commitments — "Would you, if we could?" Frame as de-risking, not begging. Include Global Tech dev shop revisit.
"With a green CEO like Mike, it's a little risky, but he's gotta get the experience and just start doing it. Start with lower-priority targets. Heavy hitters last."

The VC Call Structure
0:00
Opening Hook (30s)
One sentence: what Coditect does and why it matters now.
"AI agents are doing real work inside enterprises — writing code, processing claims, generating reports. But nobody can prove what they actually did. Coditect is the system of record for AI work."
0:30
Problem + Story (3 min)
The $250K test story. 63% of enterprises have no AI rules. 97% have no access controls. 150K+ agents per F500 by 2028.
3:30
Solution + Demo (5 min)
A neutral system of record, above the AI stack. Check before, check after, on the record. Show the moat: Evidence Estate, Artifact Library, Structural Conflict.
8:30
Traction + Business Model (4 min)
First enterprise customer, 18 months in production, 200+ agents governed, 5 LOIs, $0 marketing spend, Google AI Accelerator. Per-AI-action billing, not per-seat.
12:30
Ask + Close (2.5 min)
$3M raise. Hire, pilot, convert, prove. Bio-sciences beachhead. Canada-first jurisdiction.
15:00
Q&A (15 min)
Let them drive. If technical questions come up and Mike can't answer: "Let me get our CTO Hemant on a follow-up — he built this."
Coaching Notes for Mike
Fix: Filler words (um, uh, you know). Head side-to-side movement — should nod up/down. Practice the $250K test story until it's automatic. Keep slides sparse — talk over them, don't read them. Goal: By pitch #5, Mike should be able to deliver the full deck in 12 minutes without notes.
